Provides protective services to disabled adults, 18 years of age or older who are alleged to be abused, neglected, or exploited and in need of protection.

Provides personal care, home management, and respite services to older adults (60+) and adults with disabilities (18+) who are unable to perform these tasks.

A family caregiver support program for any older relative raising younger children such as grandparents raising their grandchildren. 

Child Protective Services is legally mandated for children alleged to be abused, neglected, and/or dependent, and who are at imminent risk of harm due to actions by the child’s parent or caretaker.

Just1Call (J1C) - Just1Call is the single portal of entry for information, referral, and initiation of services.

Provides social work and case management assistance for adults, seniors and disabled citizens who fall outside of protective services and public assistance services.

Mecklenburg County Department of Social Services, in partnership with Child Care Resources Inc. (CCRI), provides subsidized child care for working families, families engaged in workforce preparedness training, and families engaged with other Mecklenburg County support services. 

DSS Caregiver Support provides assistance to family and volunteer caregivers who provide assistance to the loved ones at home.

Provides services to individuals who have been declared legally incompetent with Mecklenburg County DSS being appointed as the guardian of that individual. 

Responds to complaints and monitors licensed assisted living facilities and family care homes to ensure their compliance with state regulations.
